Margate Beach Mama and Daughter Photoshoot in Kent

The beautiful sandy beaches of Margate are perfect for relaxed and natural family photography. This mama and daughter photoshoot was all about capturing their connection, emotions and those little moments that make family photographs so special.

I love photographing families outdoors, where children have space to move, play and simply be themselves. Instead of constantly asking them to pose for the camera, I combine documentary photography with gentle direction and natural staging. This creates photographs that feel spontaneous while still looking beautiful and thoughtfully composed.

Margate and the surrounding Kent coastline offer wonderful locations for family photography. The open beach, sand, sea and changing skies create a simple natural background where the focus remains on the people and their relationship.

For mother and daughter sessions, I photograph a mixture of natural interactions and gently directed portraits: walking together along the beach, playing, cuddling, running through the sand and enjoying quiet moments by the sea.

One of my favourite times for a beach photoshoot is golden hour, when the sun is lower and the light becomes soft and warm. It is particularly beautiful for portraits and creates a romantic, timeless atmosphere.
