As a Kent wedding photographer, my approach combines natural documentary photography with elegant, gently directed portraits. My aim is to photograph the complete story of your wedding—from the excitement of getting ready to the ceremony, couple portraits, reception, speeches and evening party.
These photographs create a natural introduction to the wedding gallery before the ceremony begins.
Parents becoming emotional, friends laughing, children watching and little glances between the bride and groom are all important parts of the story.
The connection between the interior and gardens also means the photographic story can flow naturally from the ceremony to outdoor congratulations, confetti and reception photographs.
An outdoor ceremony also allows me to incorporate more of the surrounding landscape into wider photographs, creating a strong sense of place.
For couples who want their wedding photographs to have a strong connection to nature, a ceremony here can create a particularly beautiful visual story.
Keeping this organised allows us to complete the formal photographs efficiently so you can return to enjoying your drinks reception.
Instead, I prefer shorter sessions throughout the day. Around 10–20 minutes after the ceremony can be enough for a beautiful collection of portraits, and we can always step outside again later when the light has changed.
The result is a collection of photographs that feels elegant but still looks like you.
This is particularly useful on a busy wedding day when you want beautiful portraits but also want to spend as much time as possible with your family and friends.
Once everyone is seated, my photography becomes much more documentary.
When you receive your final gallery, you can discover all those little moments that happened while you were enjoying another part of the wedding.
These moments cannot be recreated, which is why experience and anticipation are so important.
Five or ten minutes outside can be enough to create another small collection of romantic photographs before returning to your guests.
Together, these photographs complete the story from the quiet preparations of the morning to the energy of the evening celebration.
This history gives the venue another dimension beyond its modern wedding spaces and landscaped gardens.
The result is a combination of documentary wedding photography, natural couple portraits, timeless family photographs and candid images of your guests.
