Dasha and Alex’s Classic Documentary Wedding in Sydney

It was a true honour to photograph the beautiful wedding of Dasha and Alex—two wonderful people with genuinely kind hearts. Their Sydney celebration welcomed more than 150 guests and was filled with love, laughter and touching moments shared with family and friends.

Before the wedding, we arranged a romantic pre-wedding photo shoot in one of Sydney’s beautiful parks. This relaxed session gave Dasha and Alex an opportunity to feel comfortable in front of the camera while we created natural, elegant portraits surrounded by peaceful greenery.

On the wedding day, I used my classic documentary approach to capture the celebration as it naturally unfolded. From emotional family moments and joyful guest reactions to elegant portraits and the lively reception, every photograph became part of their unique story.

The wedding unfolded at a wonderfully slow and relaxed pace. The morning began at the hotel, where both the bride and groom were getting ready for their special day.

I started by photographing Dasha with her bridesmaids, capturing beautiful portraits, thoughtful details and natural moments of excitement and laughter. We then moved to another room, where Alex and his best man were enjoying a fun and relaxed morning together.

Alex’s parents were also present, giving me the opportunity to capture some especially touching family moments. These quiet interactions filled with love, pride and emotion—became some of the most meaningful photographs from the wedding morning.

We also created beautiful portraits of Dasha with her wonderful mum, capturing their close connection and the emotion of the wedding morning. One of the most touching moments was when Dasha left the hotel as a bride and made her elegant arrival in a beautiful vintage car.

Every detail felt magnificent from the quiet family moments and anticipation before the ceremony to Dasha’s graceful entrance. It was a truly unforgettable beginning to a wonderful wedding day.

The ceremony took place in the beautiful grounds of Curzon Hall in Sydney. Dasha and Alex exchanged their vows beneath a traditional Jewish chuppah in a romantic outdoor setting, surrounded by their family and friends. Meaningful Jewish wedding traditions made the ceremony deeply personal and emotional, creating an unforgettable moment during their magnificent celebration.

The group photographs and Dasha and Alex’s couple photo shoot took place in the beautiful gardens of Curzon Hall.
We used the elegant vintage car as a stylish backdrop, creating timeless portraits that perfectly reflected the classic atmosphere of their wedding day.

The reception was truly unforgettable, bringing together touching traditions, hilarious moments and plenty of happy tears. Dasha and Alex’s romantic first dance was one of the most emotional parts of the evening. As they moved across the dance floor, their guests watched with love, pride and excitement.

The cake-cutting ceremony was another joyful highlight, followed by the bouquet toss, which created wonderful reactions, laughter and a little friendly competition among the guests. These lively moments were perfect for natural documentary photography, allowing me to capture genuine expressions and the energy of the celebration.

From emotional speeches and affectionate embraces to spontaneous laughter and energetic dancing, the evening was filled with memorable moments. It was a magnificent conclusion to Dasha and Alex’s Sydney wedding a reception where elegance met pure joy, and almost every happy tear was quickly followed by another reason to smile.
