The Royal Automobile Club Wedding for 150 Guests in London

My journey with Rachel and James began a year before their main wedding celebration, when I photographed their intimate civil ceremony at the beautiful Chelsea Old Town Hall. Surrounded by their closest family members, they officially became husband and wife in a warm and personal celebration. It was wonderful to meet them at this early stage and later work together to plan the photography for their much larger wedding day.

One year later, Rachel and James welcomed 150 guests to the magnificent Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall one of London’s most prestigious wedding venues. Friends and family travelled from different places, including guests from California, where Rachel is originally from, making the occasion even more meaningful.

The Royal Automobile Club offered a spectacular setting for their elegant celebration. Its impressive historic architecture, grand staircases and beautifully designed reception rooms created endless opportunities for timeless wedding photographs. Throughout the day, I captured the refined details of the venue alongside emotional family moments, joyful reunions, heartfelt speeches and the wonderful energy of the evening celebration.

The wedding perfectly combined classic American and British luxury with Rachel and James’s warm personalities. Although the surroundings were grand and sophisticated, the atmosphere remained relaxed, personal and filled with genuine happiness. Having photographed both their intimate Chelsea ceremony and their large celebration at the Royal Automobile Club, it was a real privilege to document the complete story of their wedding journey.

The wedding day began with getting ready inside the Royal Automobile Club, where the bride and groom enjoyed a relaxed morning surrounded by their closest family and friends. A bridal party of 7 people filled the elegant suites with excitement, laughter, and anticipation before the ceremony.

Photographing the preparations in such luxurious surroundings allowed every detail to shine—from the wedding dress and accessories to emotional moments between parents, bridesmaids, and groomsmen. The spacious interiors also provided the perfect backdrop for stylish bridal party portraits before everyone made their way to the ceremony.

The ceremony took place in one of the Royal Automobile Club's magnificent reception rooms, where classic interiors, ornate ceilings, and beautiful natural light created an unforgettable atmosphere. After the vows, we captured formal family photographs followed by relaxed portraits of the newlyweds and their bridal party throughout the venue. With fourteen bridesmaids and groomsmen, careful planning ensured the group photographs looked elegant while remaining natural and full of personality. As the evening celebrations began, guests enjoyed a luxurious wedding breakfast followed by heartfelt speeches and an energetic live band that kept the dance floor full throughout the night.
